Frequently Asked Questions

Is it okay if I’ve never done boxing?

YES! Most of our clients come to us with no boxing experience at all and these are the clients we love to work with! When you have zero experience you have zero bad habits and this allows you to progress faster than someone who has previous experience. When you start Boxing training with us you know that you are learning exceptional Boxing technique in a safe and supportive environment.

IS IT OK IF I’M NOT IN SHAPE?

YES! Even though Boxing is the ultimate workout it doesn’t mean you have to be in great shape to do it. Since it is such a challenging and effective workout it will get you in amazing shape faster than you ever thought possible! We love seeing clients start off with little to no conditioning and within a short time they feel more energy in their day to day life, see themselves toning up, feel their body getting stronger and they start crushing their workouts!

WILL I GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE?

NO! In all of our boxing and fitness programs we emphasize technique and safety. When you decide to come in for your first day to try our award winning boxing programs like our FitBox or Contact you WILL NOT be punched in the face. The only program where there will ever be an instance that this could happen is with our Contact Boxing Program in which you build in to doing drills and sparring only after you have developed your technique and built your confidence up.

In FitBox, CoreBox, Focus Mitts, Beginner Boxing or any other session, YOU NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING HIT!

WILL I TONE UP AND LOSE BELLY FAT WITH BOXING?

YES! Boxing is one of the top ways to tone up, lose belly fat and lean out while preserving lean muscle mass. Research has shown that interval style training like boxing is great for fat loss and for speeding up your metabolism.

Fitness programs like traditional aerobic cardio workouts only create an increase in calories burned during the actual workout that drops off rapidly when you end your fitness training session. But because of a phenomenon known as EPOC (Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption) you have a substantial increase in the amount of calories you burn for hours after you end a boxing workout.

Since boxing uses your fast twitch muscle fibers to perform quick and powerful punches over and over again it encourages your body to hold onto muscle and even can increase your definition which will lead to a more toned or ripped look and not the skinny soft look that so many endurance athletes have.

So, if you only have a limited amount of time to get a workout in, Boxing is the key that will give you better results for your time than any other workout.
